Buying

Do I need an account to buy?

You can browse and see prices without one. You need a free account to add something to your cart, make an offer, place a bid, or buy — because we need to know who is holding an item and where it is going.

How do I pay?

Cash or card when you collect, by bank transfer, or in person at the sale. If you choose bank transfer, upload your confirmation when you order and we'll verify it — your order shows as awaiting verification until we do. Paying online by card is coming; the checkout will say so when it is available.

How long do I have to pay?

Placing an order holds your items while you pay. The deadline is shown on your order and repeated in your confirmation email, and it never runs past the close of the sale. If we have not received payment by then, the items go back on sale and the order is cancelled automatically. You can also cancel it yourself from your account at any time before that.

Can I change my mind?

Before you pay, yes — cancel the order from your account and nothing is owed. After you have paid, no: estate sale items are second-hand, one of a kind, and sold as they are, so we do not refund a change of mind. If we described something materially wrongly, tell us within seven days of collection with photographs and we will put it right. The Refund & Cancellation Policy sets this out in full.

What does "reserved" mean on an item?

Another customer has ordered it and is paying for it. It is not gone: if their payment does not arrive by their deadline, it returns to sale automatically. You can still make an offer on it in the meantime, and we will come back to you if it frees up.

How do offers and bidding differ?

An offer is a proposal — our team reviews it and may accept, decline or counter. If we accept, the item goes into your cart at that price, but it stays on sale until you place your order, so somebody else may still buy it first. A bid is different: a bid is a commitment to buy at that price if you win. Please do not bid unless you mean it.

Can I look at something before I buy it?

Please do — it is your best protection. Everything is second-hand and sold as it is, where it is, and a photograph is not a substitute for seeing something yourself. Come to the sale, or ask us and we will tell you what we can about condition. You may bring your own expert at your own cost.

Collection & Delivery

How do I collect what I have bought?

Choose a collection time in your account once your order is placed. Bring your own help, tools and transport — removal is your responsibility, at your cost and your risk. Collect within 7 days of the sale closing; items left beyond that may be charged storage.

Do you deliver?

Yes, to the parishes we cover. Choose delivery at checkout, enter your parish, and the fee is calculated and shown before you confirm. If we do not yet reach your parish the checkout will tell you, and you can collect instead or contact us.

Where is the sale actually held?

Each family chooses when the exact address is released — straight away, once you register, once you have bought something, once you book a collection time, a set number of hours before, or only on the day. The rule for a particular sale is shown on that sale's page. Estate sales often happen at a house nobody is living in, which is why we are careful with this.
